Well I have a meeting today for a Meet 'N Greet. Can't wait!

This Day in Rock History!

It is Cliff Burton's birthday today, he was in the band Metallica. He was born in 1962.

This Day in Rock History!

The Beatles land at JFK Airport in New York for their very first tour in America! Pretty special moment.

Meeting

This upcoming Monday is going to be the first guitar lesson "meeting". Can't wait to go see all of the students I will be instructing. ALSO, I will try to post a picture of the flyer I made.

Guitar Lessons Info

Well the first meeting(meet n greet)will be on Monday February 13th. The first guitar lesson will be on Monday February 20th. Guitar lessons will then be every Monday after the first one and so on until April 30th. There will be permission slips passed out and I will only be accepting the first 15 slips. Looking forward to teaching guitar. Woohoo!

Please vote on my poll about my name of my guitar lessons\fundraiser. If you vote, "Naaaaahhh Brah" then please tell me why and what your idea is for a name. Thanks!

Fundraiser News

Well I had my meeting two days ago and it went very well. We discussed all my ideas and the lady thought they were great. She said she will talk to some people at the Tempe campus about my fundraising idea and then she will tell me what she finds out. Until then, she said I can do a little fundraiser on the poly campus at the Student Union with only one band rather than five(which will be at the other campus). I just might consider her idea for now and gain a little bit of money.

Comment and tell me what you think of these ideas. Thanks!

New Gadget!

I added a Links Gadget on the right side. Check it out. There's some pretty sweet links on there about music cuts and how music helps the brain.

Meeting

Going to have a meeting tomorrow about my fundraiser! I will update everybody when I get information.

Fundraiser Update

I have contacted some people and they are going to be looking up info and getting the papers for me to sign for this fundraiser to start. My hopes are that it will be at the Tempe Campus and that at least 250 people will show up. There will be probably 4 or 5 bands and then just an open mic after that for anyone(must sign up)to go up and play a song or two. I'm thinking $5.00 at the least for donations. These are all my plans but I'm not sure if they will happen exactly like that but hopefully. When I find out more details I will post them.

What is Music for Growth?

Music for Growth is me(Michael Montes)going down to the ASU Polytechnic Middle School to teach guitar, since they don't have a guitar class. I will teach them all the basics of guitar\music. These classes will take place every Monday of every week from 3:15 to 4:00 PM. There is no set day for when the first class will be, yet. All that will be needed is a guitar and possibly a guitar book. Hopefully these classes will begin soon and many students will join. This can one day turn into something big and have many different instruments. :D
